You were a magnet and drew me in, how can I forget
The subtleness of your gentle ways
Drew me closer to you as your touch brightened my days.

You were the knight in shining armour and so willing
I chanced your sweetness and opened my heart to a new beginning
Like a clock, the days went by and the months did to
You longing for me as I was longing for you.
There were miles between us and quite a distance
But travel we did with the strongest persistence
For the first time I caught sight of you, my dear
I knew it was going to be tough as we grew near.

The ties we felt and did not want to break
We left love to chance and risked all, for goodness sake
The feel of you as you held me in your arms
Oh darlin', inside sounded the sweet alarms.
Then as if the tables turned, you walked away
Bringing grey into my skies, day after day
My thoughts and emotions concentrated on you
With the heartfelt emptiness of feeling blue.

I remembered you as I walked White Rock beach
Remembering your hands and how they would reach
To grab hold of mine, no matter where we were
I remember you and the feelings inside you'd stir.
Walking that same beach and wondering, will I see you again
Watching the stars as black clouds began to roll in
Listening to the water as it splashed against the shore
Wanting to fulfill the emptiness with you even more.
