Over a year ago, God let me love
There was an angel he sent from above
An angel so masculine, Devine and strong
This precious man helped me belong.

And though I walked through the days
Somewhat docile and a little dazed
He took a chance and fell in love with me
He taught me through lessons and set my spirit free.

I could not imagine a life so simple and caring
Imagine a life with him of giving and sharing
He gave to me and through my darkness delivered me
To a new plane, a different channel, empowered me to see.

Someone so strong, I really didn't understand
Until this angel stood beside me and took me by the hand
He told me he loved me and that I shouldn't be scared
To be brave, together there was much to be shared.

I have learned through him and my own mistakes
That we all learn no matter what it takes
That life is not to be taken advantage of
Our days are numbered before God calls from above.

Did this angel look deep into my brown eyes
To really see what was there, a love that never dies
Does he chance to open that door
And let me in as we begin to explore once more.

A prayer to my Lord, "The angel you sent to me
Don't take him from me, I beg you, PLEASE!
And if you do, let him know I love him
For it was that angel that showed me how to love again.
