Part of the Fine Arts series, the subject of Sir Thomas Gainsborough's painting is a charming lad dressed in blue satin. Silver lace trims front of his jacket and the slashed sleeves; white lace edges the collar and cuffs. His breeches have large silver bows. He wears a dashing black hat with a pink feather plume on his head and a blue cloak over his shoulders. He has black hair and brown eyes. The Blue Boy is a straight legged non-walker with the Wendy head. |
