BUSINESS:
Lots of business was discussed and we accomplished a lot tonight!
* Discussed meeting schedule for 2008.
Check website for updates.
* Elizabeth is going to remain as club president for another year.
* Membership fees have changed. We voted and all were in favour
that the new fee will be $20.00 for two years, and a minimum of
3 meetings must be attended each year.
This will provide more of a commitment from members, as we are
also planning a convention to be held in the spring of 2009.
* Convention idea was discussed and will be the focus of the next two meetings.
* Gladys W. has mentioned that the Doll Club of Victoria is
having their annual Doll Show in May and we must decide whether
or not we would like a table this year. Can discuss more at next meeting.
* A vote was taken on whether or not we want 'Barbie' back in the club name. Unanimous: Yes!
* Voted for the name we will submit to Mattel:
"Barbie and Fashion Doll Club of Victoria" was unanimous.
* Elizabeth is sending the form to Mattel this week,
to request permission to use 'Barbie' in our club name.
Will update as news arrives. If for some reason Mattel does not
want us to use 'Barbie', we all voted in favour of keeping our
current name: "Fashion Doll Club of Victoria", and it won't be discussed again.
MEETING HELD AT:
May's home.
Theme was "Chinese New Year Barbies" and 'Red and Gold'.
