Susie McMahon

Susie McMahon has been making dolls of one kind or another for as long as she can remember, and in the course of pursuing dollmaking as an almost full-time career for the last ten years, she has achieved International recognition for her work, which has been shown in Gallery shows in the USA and Britain.
Having come from an art training background (Tasmanian School of Art, 1969-1971) her methods are somewhat "unconventional" in the dollmaking world, but numerous Australian and International awards attest to her standing amongst her peers. Susie is well versed in a number of different techniques and is much in demand as a tutor all over Australia. She is currently negotiating to undertake a teaching tour of the USA in 2001. She is also working on a dollmaking book which is due for publication in late 2001 - early 2002.
