Elizabeth Armstrong

Since 1993 I have worked full time, from home, as a textile artist. I am
self taught and specialize in wool, creating works in felt, sculptured knitting,
crochet and embroidery. Items ranging from quilts, dolls, bags and wall art
form the bulk of my work.
My main source of income is through teaching, commissions and through
my mail order business in pattern and cloth doll supplies. I have taught
for the Council of Adult Education (Flinders St, Melbourne) for 4 years,
throughout the eastern states and from home.
In 2000 I was lucky enough to be asked to teach in California and Florida
in the USA and will return in 2002 for further workshops in cloth doll design
and felt making.

Face Painting One Day Class Tuesday 101

The trickiest part of any cloth doll, is getting a face that you are happy with. Join in this fun filled day and discover how to achieve proportion, shading and expression. A number of faces are created including younger and older faces as well as some more whimsical characters.
Students seem comfortable with the pace of the class - and as a result are quite surprised when they take home faces that they are proud of and can use.
The day begins with the techniques on paper and gradually we transcribe these onto fabric.
