| After the war, many children developmed a variety of emotional and psychological disorders. These disorders not only plagued their lives, but were often passes to directly and indirectly affect the next generations. Children experienced Psychic numbing, Issues with trust, and displaced aggression. Survivor guilt was often seen in those survivors who lost their family memebers. They felt guilt that they survived and others did not. |
| The survivors would experience depression, insomnia, anxiety, and stomach and head aches. Many children who were adopted were never content with their new families. They only felt comfortable with those who had shared their same experiences. These children often times had problems with their fantasy life, and with understanding how childhood should be. This greatly impacted the lives of their own children. It was common for them to expect their children to parent them. |
