What does Islam say about fame and fortune?
Varoius things do not benifit you in your life and the here-after. Fame is one them. In Islam we will all go to the after world after death. Our fame will die out forever, unlike us. So, what good it is to try and concentrate and waste time trying to get fame when you can use your precios time doing Ibadah? Ibadah will help us now and in the after life. Some with fortune. You wont take it with you in your grave and it wont avail. Maybe you'll have a luxury in this world, but will wealth help you in the day of Judgement? Instead of making your goal to be rich and famous, make it to be a good Muslim. but even if you have fame and fortune, use it in a good way. With fame you can tell people about Islam,and they will listen. With fortune build masjid, feed the needy and give other donations. But remeber, you will leave it behind when you die.
