Hello, all those we love! Okay, so Alicia and I are well, though we spend a lot of our time working. I am working at a local teen-treatment mental health facility called Woodside Hospital, where I'm paid to sit on my butt all night and read books. Occasionally I might get up to make sure that the wee lil' hoodlems haven't wrecked havok upon the rest of the world, but for the most part, it's slightly less interesting than watching painted grass dry. Hey, somebody has to do it, and I get paid for it! (sort of). Alicia is currently working at a timeshare resort in Williamsburg called Powhatan Plantation, in the accounts recievable department. In other words, she's the knee breaker when folks haven't, um, "kept current" with their payment plans ("That's right, Mister Flotsam, just 65 dollars a month....Yes sir, for the rest of your life...or until 2185, whichever comes first.")
In doing a little soul searching this year we have come to the conclusion that I would really enjoy becoming a chiropractor and Alicia would love to live near her mother in Davenport, Iowa. Turns out, we can do both! Not only does Palmer Chiropractic College happen to be the best back crackin' school in a America, but it's smack-dab in the heart of Davenport. Of course, we are two young, hopeful (and above all, uncertain) people, so it is entirely possible that we will go ahead and move to Alaska to start our Llama farm/Apocalypse cult, instead. Communal living meets sitcom humor; what more could you ask for?
Someone told me that the folks out there might be interested in what we've done this past year. If this is the case, seek help, or at least get out of the house some more. We really didn't accomplish much in terms of furthering our positions in the world or society in general, but golly did we have some fun. And y'know, if that isn't life, it darn well should be. Most of the fun being had has been with the other inventive miscreants you see on the connecting pages. We have been spending our time camping, and from there, developed out current obsession with collecting as much of a zoo we can manage. We currently have two wee kittens, and to keep them company, a bird, three rats and a handful of hermit crabs. There may or may not be a fish in there too. We're not sure.. We went to Iowa for a few weeks in September to see more of Lish's family, and that was a barrel of monkeys. The Quad Cities is really a fun place! Other fun to be had: Tromping around the D.C. area, pursuing various artistic endeavors, patronizing Wal-Mart at 3 in the morning (ambiguous terminology? maybe...), attempting to write short stories, and mostly deciding what we might want to do in terms of a future. We're open to suggestions, so if you have a great idea, let us know. Until then, Be happy, Don't Panic, Keep your powder dry, Mazeltov, and do whatever you need to do to make it to tomorrow. We love you all. |
