Khepri is a bastard daughter of an overseer employed by the Pharaoh. One of many, she didn't take it personally that her father wasn't involved in her life. She lived a very hard life growing up, constantly working and struggling to make ends meet. Her mother passed onto the next life when she was 9, which only added to the hardship. In honor of her late mother, Khepri braided a lock of her own hair, as her mother had always worn her hair in braids.
Things continued on as they were for many years, until she caught the eye of one of the Pharaoh's many sons. He would never rule Egypt, but he still carried a bit of weight as far as prestige went. Khepri doesn't trust him, as people in power had let her down before. Case in point: Her father. But only time will tell if she will change her mind.
