The Lion's Opposition
As told by: Lady Malee
Located in the Study of Renrut Nek, The Threshold Pits. The lions of opposition can represent many things. Usually when you find the lions, they are found with the mural of the Hands. This is almost a contradiction of sorts. The expression shows a lack of any motive for a peaceful solution. Possibly representing the wars behind us and the wars to come. Also, warning that while we are humans, while at peace and content, we can become savage when angered. These two murals are often hung in the same places, and where you can harm others. One particular exception is in Bograms Lair (where I will explain a little more about in my next presentation) The Lions can represent almost anything. I.e... Us against Mares, Freesoul Vs illuminate, good Vs. Evil, and a lot more important of the representation may be Opposition. If you notice, the Lions are exactly alike. Equal in Power and form. They will never clash for if they would, it would mean destroying each other, thus leaving us without any more Lions. They are glaring at each other rather than fighting. It could also represents an inner struggle. We have the same, all dreamers. But we continue to oppose one another, with petty differences that are less important, and that the truly important things, and this is causing opposition and are indeed petty. This is perhaps why those differences are not shown in the Mural. Only the important things are shown since only the important things should matter at all. For we are truly fighting our reflection, since we are all alike.

We can't see this through our rage sometimes and this is why we still fight, even when it should be obvious that we are only hunting ourselves. (one theory to consider). Notice when looking at the mural, that the bottom of the mural are Dark Mare figures. Theory perhaps represent the Dark, meaning something that the individual dreamer opposes, which could represent a infinite number of things. This may also show how fear, a basic and primal emotion at the depths of our soul can give these Dark figures shape and form. Above the dark figures is a horizontal line clearly separating them from what is above the hands. This is where the house mural, which contains the house symbols, come in the place directly beneath the hand mural. It could represent the spirit of trust and cooperation that the dream was founded on, and it also shows that this trust should be placed in higher regard than the individual houses, since combined as a whole, there is strength in the unity. Unity always is strength. However, the House Mural is also located on and under the Dark figures. Underneath the hands. Could this mean that the Houses were formed solely because of the Darkness within us? Darkness that we took upon us to form? Would there even be houses if we truly understood unity instead of dividing ourselves via 8 houses? Then if we understood, would the Houses be placed above the Hands? notice that the two hands grasp each other, one more weakly, and up to mid arm, instead of just in hand. When you shake someone's hand, you are greeting. When you hold someone's arm as depicted here, it is more of a sign of brotherhood, or deep friendship.

Also each hand can represent anything. Two (2) dreamers, Two (2) houses etc.. One of them is weak in the right hand though, and one is slightly slumped over. The other hand is stronger and is underneath and supporting the weak hand. It is also lifting the hand to the top.(the top has no drastic line, it is possibly representing the peak of purity of the dream, The thing we always strive for.) Our destination! Also, both of these are right hands. As if the entities would be facing one another and not turning away. Facing each other like the Lions. What if they are the hands of the Lions? Opposed, yet, cooperating in friendship? Is this not what makes us different? Our personalities? Our mind and soul and body. This makes the Triad family fit into this as well, and I will finish my* task with that mural. We are all different and that is what makes the dream what it is. The houses, our beliefs, our families, and friends, and what we will live and die for. Yet with all our differences, and different points of view, all these things, we still manage to help each other and rise above it all, in friendship, to help each other for the city and the dream.
