It was one day when we went off to the forest of Arhnem, deep within it, that we removed an overgrowth of vegetation which seemed to be a piled up fairly high, about 5 feet. Once we cleared it down to the moss, we discovered a makeshift cave made from large pieces of the agnet rocks. Upon it were some odd writings engraved.. riddles of sleep and focus on what you are. Nade paid little to no attention to this find, as he only sought out the most interesting of items in his lifetime. I myself, took little notice to it at first, but it became one of the most important finds in my time, as you shall learn later.
A jump into future events; it was one day our village experienced a horrible quake. This shook the village residents, their feeling of safety, as it is the first time the ground had shaken. The effects this mysterious event had the the populace soon faded. In the past they put it, no longer a significance in their daily lives. Perhaps this was our worst mistake for what was to come. But, could we have even stopped it, if we did give concern? We shall never know...
Waking up that particular morning, I felt full of vigor. Heading out the door, I headed towards Nade's hut, we got ready and headed on our usual venture outside the the village boundaries. Today was different, as we saw a dark, crimson mist hanging over the forest. Our curiousities peaked, we went to see if we could find out what this was. Entering deeper into the forest, we saw the the trees and bushes tinted a red, a glow emitting further within. Once nearing the cave we had discovered some time ago, we noticed a pillar of crimson electricity swirling above it. It seemed to be growing in strength, pulsing out waves which seemed to go through us, yet push us back. This force felt odd, like nothing I had felt before. Suddenly, it grew enormous, surround us, it's waves becoming painful. The trees beginning to snap in half like twigs, I urged Nade into the cave, not knowing what to do. Being surrounded.. it seemed the only place we could seek shelter. Nade seemed to be frozen still. I tugged on him but he just stood there, gazing, then a force knocked me back. The sound of a thunderous explosion and the wall of crimson, descending towards Nade and the village... Nade disappearing before my eyes.
This horrible pain... this.. destruction. As I exit the safety of the cave, my surroundings, familiar no longer. Anything erect, a hut, a tree, a bush.... a person. Annihilated. Memories... the sounds of the playful children.. the elders reciting their tales. All gone. There was nothing left. For one day to see everyone you care for and the next.. for them to vanish without trace, it is hard to comprehend. The cave is now my place of rest. My abode. For as I write this now, my heart is burdened and I can go on no longer. Perhaps, one day, I shall conserve the strength to speak of many events inbetween and ahead, how I achieved dreaming. But at this moment... I cannot.
