| Tiny Tim is our
miracle man. Wisha, his mum got sick when he and his brothers &
sisters were just 2 weeks old. Tiny Tim got the infection from Wisha
through her milk. We raced them all to our incredibly patient vet,
and he gave us some medication for Wisha and said that all the kittens
were going to be alright except for Tiny Tim. Jim (our vet) said
that he didn't expect Tiny Tim to last the night.
Craig and I were mortified. I said to Jim that I'd do anything I could to make him live. So Jim gave him an injection of antibiotic and saline to re-hydrate him. He told me that he really didn't expect him to survive and that I should concentrate on feeding the other 4 kittens by hand. I spent the night forceb feeding Tiny Tim, and feeding the others with an eye dropper. Tiny lasted the night after much fighting on my part to get him to drink. By the next afternoon he had enough energy to drink from a bottle like the rest of the kittens. I had to take 2 weeks annual leave so that I could hand rear the litter because Wisha's milk had dried up. While I was feeding and looking after the litter I noticed their markings coming through and I couldn't believe what I saw on Tiny Tim. His gauntlets are almost perfect!
After developing such a special bond with this little miracle man, we have decided that he will stay on and hopefully sire us some lovely kittens. If they have his will to live, his markings and lovely gentle nature, we will be very pleased. We decided to name him Tiny Tim because he was so small and fragile from being sick. We were not even going to consider keeping him as a stud. But he has certainly come a long way and is now looking lovely. He could be a little bigger, but he has plenty of time to develop. Keep visiting this site to see how Tiny Tim grows and find out how he does at shows. |
