Omigosh Won Wish
Foundation Queen - Seal Point (carrying chocolate) - D.O.B 02/07/00
BACK
Omigosh Won Wish (Wisha) is our very first breeding girl and the foundation of our cattery.  We purchased her from Catherine Pinkerton her breeder.  It was very difficult to find  our first girl.  We were living in Cairns, far north Queensland and had to view photos of kittens via email.  It was also very hard to find a breeder who was willing to help us start breeding.  After 3 1/2 years of doing research and emailing breeders all over Australia, we finally found a few breeders who were very helpful in giving us advice and helping us eventually find the perfect girl to start our breeding program -  Dolcevita Birmans.

We would like to thank Catherine Pinkerton for entrusting one of her beautiful babies into our care.  Marie Mahoney of Nicsha Birmans, for all of her information, advice and for putting us into contact with Catherine. And Lorainne Smith of Shenji Birmans, for her advice on whisha's photos and on breeding in general. It was these 3 people who helped us start Dolcevita Birmans.
Wisha has a lovely definition of point colour, and for a seal point her age, has very little shading.  She has exceptional eye colour and lovely markings.

Wisha is very much a daddy's little girl.  She hangs off every breath Craig takes.  They have a very special relationship and I think it is beautiful.

Wisha had her first litter on 05/09/01, she delivered 5 babies all on her own.  We woke up at 3am to the sound of the kittens crying and watched her deliver the 6th kitten.  Unfortunately we found one of her kittens dead, with a bruised abdomen.  But the other 5 were all healthy and are now in various loving homes.

Wisha is a very precocious girl.  She first came into heat at the tender age of 5 1/2 months, and drove us crazy with her constant calling for a boy.  She became so loud at times that we were sure that we would have the neighbours banging on our door with the R.S.P.C.A ready to arrest us for torturing cats.

After moving to Melbourne, we would have had as much trouble finding a stud for wisha, as we did in finding her if it Weren't for a wonderful person who has become our friend and mentor, Lesley Freemann.  She allowed us to send Wisha to her absolutely gorgeous boy CCCA GDC Gold CH ch/ch Eldorato Sebastian.  He is a lovely boy with big boning, which was what we were after.  He produced his size in all of Wisha's kittens.  Lesley was (and still remains) an absolute wealth of information.  And she is very generous with her knowledge and experience, she has been breeding Birmans for over 20 years, and before that bred Siamese.  She helped us with deciding on the quality of Wisha's kittens, and was only a phone call away if we ever had any questions.
