Jerome Kemp

Looking for more info on Jerome Kemp, b.Germany, d.1944 in Danbury CT and Dorothy Partnoy, b.1902 Kishinev, Moldavia, d.1991 in NY. His son is Alan Kemp, b.Hackenstack NJ in 1930. Jerome had a brother, William Kemp, who m. Dorothy after his brother's death. This is the Eastern European Jewish tradition if a bachelor brother remains. William and Jerome's sister Pearl m. into a family from NY named Orange--I've heard that her husband was a concert pianist.

Have found traces of a family called Kempenich originally from Emmernich, Germany and now apparently from Anniston Alabama, via the Museum of the Diaspora in Tel Aviv. Has anyone come across Kemps of Jewish origin?

Belgium Kemps

My grandfather is Eug�ne Kemp, b.18 Dec. 1911 Habergy. He m. Albertine Biver 11-25-1936. I give you the data we've found (When I don't specify the birth or death village, it's Habergy):
I specify that Habergy and Hondelange are two small villages in the south of Belgium, near the boundary with the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg.

If anyone has any info on any of the above, I would appreciate hearing from you.

South Dakota; d.1959 Watertown, SD; m.1931 Huron, SD to Mary Louisa (Louise) Cates b.1912 Jefferson, SD; and his father, Matt "Matti" Kemp/Kampainen b.1858 in Uleaborg Finland; d.1947 in SD; m.Evatina Moilenen b.1861 Uleaborg, Finland; d.1944.
Richard had 9 siblings: Mathew b.1885-Finland; Bertha b.1887-Finland; Henry 1889; Hilma 1891; Levi b.1895-Estelline, SD; Mary Anna b.1896-SD; Edward Otto b.1899-SD; Hilma Christina b.1904-SD; Alvin Andrew b.1907-SD.

John Conrad Kampf

John Conrad Kampf was the son of Christian and the grandson of Frederick Von Der Kampf of Canton of St. Callen, Switzerland. My records show that he arrived at the port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1773, with his wife Anna Marie and family: Christian (age 18), Gilbert (age 16), Fredrick (age 8), Hans Peter (age 6) and Marie Catherine (age 2) on the ship Samuel: Hugh Percey, master. He left Switzerland on account of religious difference. My lineage is from Fredrick. He had seven children. His fourth child Ludwig, or Lewis, married Elizabeth.They had eight children.

I am looking for others who share this line.

This family emigrated to either Canada or the United States at some point after 1836. Any Information is very welcome.

My ancestors were in the Wool trade and occupied Woolen Mills throughout Aberdeenshire, Scotland. My Family tree goes back to David Kemp who m. Jane Reid in 1792. Descendants are now found in Scotland, Australia, South Africa, Israel and even England !

Need birthdate, place and parents of James Kempe. Printed sources claim he was b. Ulster, Ireland, immigrated to the U.S. and served in Am. Rev. at age 16. No documentation on this. Settled in Prince William Co., Virginia and m. Margaret Graham (widow Bird). Children - Margaret Louisa (mother of Varina Howell who m. Jefferson Davis); Frances Elizabeth (my g.g.grandmother); Thomas Beckett; Jane ?Boldon?; and James. Moved to Natchez, Mississippi in 1809 after killing Bernard Hooe in duel. Became wealthy planter. Was colonel under Gen. Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812. Died in Natchez,18SEP1819.

John Kemp

Our family of Kemps originated in Penicuik, Scotland, County of Midlothian, some 10 miles from Edinburgh.
Alexander Kemp, son of John and Marion Kemp (nee Denholm) came to Australia in 1857. He was one of 8 children, the others being:
George b.1814 d.1895
James b.1817 d.1888
John b.1819 d.1891
Robert b.1824 d.1886
Adam b.1824 d.1867
Marion b.1826 d.1901
Mary b.1834 d.1912

So far as is known these siblings of Alexander did not leave Scotland. Does anyone have info about this family or modern descendants? Does anyone have a history of how the Kemps came to Scotland? I have more detailed info and family history.
