April 8th Solar Eclipse
Doina Nemteanu -  Certified astrologer

   The New Moon of April 8th  at 19 deg 06 Aries is also a
Solar Eclipse. This is  the second one in the series of Solar Eclipses happening along the Aries-Libra axis which started last year,and which will end with a 3rd one completing the cycle in March 2006.

    The present series of Solar Eclipses requires that we strongly assert our individuality, highlighting action, daring, initiative and independence versus hesitation,compromise and an exagerate desire to keep the peace at any cost within our relationships. The theme for this series is
be bold and go after what (or whom?) you want most and do not let others influence you in any way.

     According to Bernadette Brady, this Eclipse belongs to Saros series 7 North, a very sensual family of eclipses suddenly arousing deep passions and desires which may have been kept hidden for years, even ones that we didn't know we had buried inside.

     The Aries
Solar Eclipse of April 8th  occurs in conjunction to Venus, trine Pluto and sextile Neptune, setting the scene for impulsive and daring action in both romantic and financial matters. The Sun, Moon and Venus in tight conjunction with the North Node give a karmic dimension to the events unfolding now in our lives. This planetary configuration is favourably supported by Mars and Neptune, which add inspiration and a touch of magic. Those of us more spiritually attuned can even perform magic, as the powers of materialization are highly increased now. The only sore spot here is Saturn, who seems determined to teach us how to become mature and strong through frustrations and delays in reaching our goals. Impetus, action and passion are blocked for the moment. Well just have to comply and wait a little bit longer, as the restrictions and blockroads will start vanishing by early May.

     With Mercury retrograde, past actions and situations are under close scrutiny and we can expect to reach a final decision, receive some important news or have a clarifying discussion around May 4th, when Mercury will cross the Eclipse point. Things will really start moving ahead in the areas highlighted by the eclipse around July 10th, , when Mars will be activating the same degree by conjunction.

    Now, to get a clearer picture of what this Aries
Solar Eclipse might mean to you, think back and try to remember the events you were facing around  the following dates, when planetary transits activated the sensitive 19 deg Aries point :

2004  -  Things seem to have started sometime around January 17th 2004 (when Mars crossed the Eclipse point), followed by new developments around February 26th 2004,  March 22nd, early and end April 2004, then early and end June, mid and end July, end August, early and end October , and mid November 2004.

2005  -  around the New Moon of January 10th, when the Sun squared the Eclipse degree, while opposing Saturn;
          -  January 24th, when Venus conjunct Mercury activated the point by square, while opposing Saturn at the same time  possible meetings, news and conversations that were obstructed and / or financial problems;
           -  February 2nd , moment when Jupiter turned retrograde and activated the Eclipse point by opposition while squaring Saturn, meaning hopes and wishes that coud not come true because of certain restrictive circumstances;
           - around March 6th , when Mars opposed Saturn and both squared the same sensitive place there was a huge amount of frustration here resulting from blocked action.
           -  next, March 17th, with Mercury crossing the Eclipse point only 2 days before going retrograde, while receiving a large square from Saturn and an opposition from Jupiter - conversations, news, promisses made at that moment following to be reconsidered (or forgotten) during the retrograde period.

     As you can see, Saturn had an important part to play in the events related to this Eclipse, but the good news is that with this Aries Solar Eclipse blockages, restrictions and delays are over, for here are the planetary transits touching the Eclipse degree until the end of the year 2005 :

          -  an important moment comes around mid June, when the North Node of the Moon conjuncts the Eclipse point, marking an intense and eventful period;
          -   by  June 19th Venus and Mercury (conjunct again) will activate the point by square, as they did in January (see above), but the lines of communication will be open this time, with a brief moment of tension after the 25th ;
          -  a very dynamic period opens on July 10th , when the Eclipse point is simultaneously activated by 2 transits : Mars,by conjunction, and the Sun in Cancer, by square;
          -  expect further developments around Sept 3rd , when Venus conjunct Jupiter (bringing joy, happiness and good luck in love and money matters) will activate by opposition the Eclipse degree;
         -  events related to the Eclipse are again highlighted early October,when first Mercury, then the Sun will oppose the sensitive spot, bringing some important piece of news, meetings, discussions ;
        -  towards end November Venus squares the point, following to retrace her steps back over this spot around Jan 24th 2006, and then in direct motion around Feb 18th 2006, bringing some testing times in personal or professional partnerships, and possibly on the financial plane, too. (Further developments to be discussed in next years forecasts).

A Solar Eclipse is a special New Moon, with the Sun and  the Moon meeting at the same degree of the zodiac and within 18 deg 31 min of the North Node or the South Node of the Moon.
      Solar Eclipses bring about significant changes in our lives related to work, career, social status, relations with persons representing authority.

Lunar Eclipses take place with the Sun and the Moon at opposite degrees to each other they are special Full Moons occuring within 12 deg 15 min from either Node of the Moon.
      Lunar Eclipses are more emotional in nature and affect matters related to home, family relations, important women in our lives, children, intimate feelings and emotions.

     Eclipses highlight areas of our lives that need changing, whether we realize it or not. They bring to light hidden problems or issues that we tried to ignore and force us to deal with them. As they occur in connection to the Nodes of the Moon, these changes are meant to make us follow our karmic path. Eclipses can be seen as both an end and a new beginning. Something ends (a state of things,a particular situation or a relationship) and gives way to something different, and things are changed for ever, for better or worse- naturally, all this implies a great amount of stress, even in the case of a happy event, like a marriage or a job promotion.
      The effects of the eclipses manifest themselves for long periods of time and they can affect us even months before, triggered by planetary transits to the sensitive eclipse point.
