| I bet you're wondering what in the world I'm doing creating a website for IT office. I had been thinking seriously about running for office next year, but I ran out of excuses to put it off and decided to just go for it. By the time I was ready to officially declare my interest in running for Information Technology (IT) Manager, the deadline for having my paragraph printed in the election packet had just passed. Rather than give up then, I decided to continue pursuing this office. These are the reasons why I believe I should be elected IT Manager: 1. I'm a fast learner. Last spring, I taught myself HTML in just four (4!) nights. So I can learn any needed computer languages quickly over the summer, when I learn the tricks of the trade from the current IT Manager. 2. I get along with everybody and have no problems asking for people's input. I believe that the more interaction we have between officers, the better the band will function. 3. I have high attendance, so I'll be easily accessible to everyone. I never miss a gig if I can help it, even if it means taking a bus to Sac and biking 55 blocks to the game! 4. One of my goals if elected as IT Manager is to work with the Librarian to digitally back up our entire music library. The older music is continuing to get more aged, faded and brittle due to the natural acids in the paper. By digitally backing up our music library now, we can preserve our musical history for decades to come. I am more than willing to put in the time to get this vital task done. I am confident that I would make an excellent IT Manager and an outstanding member of the Officer Council. Vote Tom for ITman! |
