How to give your dog spaa treatment! (for Golden retrievers)
The first step is to bathe them thouroughly. I suggest you go outside and use a hose. If you have to get them inside put cheese in the bath tub. It will coax them in.
Once you got the water running you should wet them all over.
Ok I know this sounds insane, but there is a dishwasher soap called Lemon Joy. On most dogs it would hurt them, but on golden retrievers it actually helps their skin. Rub them all over with this soap.
Now get prepared for them to shake!
After the dog is dry brush them all over.
Make sure you give them an award like a chew stick or a bone or maybe a walk. That way they will be well rewarded for their bath.
And that is the spaa treatment!
How to take care of you Sxheltie
The Sheltie's double coat consists of long straight outer coat with a short, dense undercoat. The amount of grooming your dog will need will depend on the amount and type of coat it has, but as a general rule a weekly brushing should keep your dog in tip-top shape. You will need a slicker brush, pin brush, comb, nail trimmers and a scissors. A Sheltie coat should always be brushed or combed and should never be clipped down to the skin! Sharp nail tips should be trimmed frequently on a puppy; less often on an adult. Long hair may be trimmed on feet, ears and legs. Cleaning your puppy's ears and brushing its teeth should also be part of its regular grooming routine. If started at an early age, your Sheltie will learn to love the attention good grooming provides.

For All Dogs
When you take your loved pet to take a bath, use a leash to hold them, just incase they want to run away. Also wear clothes that are ok to get wet. Your dog might just get a lot of water on you.
