Prologue
The blizzard roared on as a horrible wind caused a visible she-wolf to walk through in pain. Bloody paw prints were left behind. Her fur gleamed red with two black claw-like scars on the high leg and lower shoulder. Her wolf head bowed down, piercing green eyes with a tint of red looked up angrily seeing the horrible world of snow in front of her. Black numbed paws pushed through the snow as they dragged on the ground weakly. A stream of blood seeped out more and more with every movement. A long chain was wrapped around her chest all the way to her right front leg, which had a bleeding gash wound that followed underneath the chain. The She-wolf stopped and growled, in front of her was a black dog with cold blue eyes that bared its fangs at the wolf.
Her ears went up as a click of a gun was heard. A man with a tan trench coat stood behind the black dog, aiming at the She wolf's head with a rifle. She snarled and bared her pearl white fangs. The dog took that as a sign to attack and charged full force. The She wolf stood her ground until the dog jumped, it�s fangs ready to meet the victims blood and flesh, the wolf jumped also. The bullet was released from the gun and gashed its way into her stomach. She fell with a soft thud into the snow. A pool of blood formed under the She wolf. The hunter grinned evilly and petted his dog "come on blue. This wolf is going to die painfully and slowly" He and his dog walked past the bleeding she wolf, giving her glares and disappeared into the blizzards white mist. The she wolf laid there staring into the white nothingness of the mist, Her eyelids slowly getting heavy; soon her eyes were shut.... Letting her soul lift higher and higher into the air "wolves aren't afraid to die.... But I need to get there...I need to get to Rakuen...to find you... to be with you..." The she wolf grabbed onto her soul, not wanting to let go. Not wanting to give up just yet.
Chapter 1
The Wolf's rain gang left the city, starting the journey together...even though they don't know one another. The one ahead was a white majestic wolf, strong with pride and determination. His name...Kiba, the starter of the journey to Rakuen, he has a loner side and good leadership, going on instincts, he follows it, leading him to the smell of lunar flowers which is said to help find Rakuen. His heart can hear the voice calling to him. Telling him to find her. Who? He wonders how come he's the only one that can hear it? The one behind him was an X-scar powerful gray wolf, Full of strength, self-keeping and toughness. His name...Tsume, the one that tagged along for no particular reason, well just to see if Rakuen, a wolf's fairytale he says, is truly just a fairytale. Another wolf behind him was a sandy carefree wolf, stomach was in his heart and he was a joker, His name...Hige, the wolf looking for fun. And last but not least, brown young, wolf, heart of gold and determined to be strong. His name� Toboe, The peacemaker of the pack, he tries his best to be helpful, and is very good with herbs and medical matters. Four different wolves, with four different reasons, with just one goal, Rakuen.
�Hey guys, I smell blood�� Hige informed the others. �I don�t smell anything Hige� Toboe said as he sniffs the air. �Cuz I have a very unique scent of smell. I can smell anything from miles away." He gloated. As the pack kept running Hige flinched at the strong stanch of the blood. "The scent is getting stronger� Hige gasped. Kiba stopped at a pile of snow. Dry blood was at the bottom of the pile. �Help me with this� Kiba said as he digged. Tsume helped him. Soon they saw the chained red wolf lying there. �Oh my gosh. Is he ok?� Toboe gasped �Barely. We have to find shelter,� Kiba said as he slid under the wolf and lifted him up onto his back. 'Lighter then a male wolf so it must be a female.' Kiba thought to himself. The pack continued running and finally found a cave. Kiba sat the wolf down and backed away, putting up his human disguise. Toboe started to lick the wounds �What�s up with the chains rapped around him?� Hige asked as he kneeled down in front of the wolf in his human disguise too. �We don�t know. We have to wait until she wakes up� Kiba assumed. �She!� Hige and Toboe said unison. �Great�� Tsume sarcastically muttered. As Time went by, the blizzard subsided. The female wolf opened her eyes slightly and saw shadows moving about �She�s awake.� Toboe informed. The she-wolf�s eye vision focused and two wolves masked as human boys sat there looking at her. �Who�who are you?� The she-wolfs voice was tranquil and silky, even though she was knocked out a long time. �I�m Hige and this is Toboe.� Hige turned around and pointed to the other male wolves. �That�s Kiba and he�s Tsume.� Hige introduced and faced the she-wolf again. �Are you ok?� Toboe asked in a worried tone �besides the pain and headache, I�m fine� The she-wolf replied with a smile in her tone, since wolves don�t smile really. �By the way, my name is Rikku� She added. �Nice to meet you, Rikku� Hige smiled. �What�s the point of those chains? I mean, what did that?� Toboe asked hesitantly. Rikku looked away. �I would like to not tell you the reason�. But not at this time� she said with tears in her voice. Hige glared at Toboe, who looked down �I�m sorry� Toboe apologized. �Don�t be sorry.� Rikku cloaked her true self with a 19-year-old teenager, Her hair was reddish brown with two black strands on both side of her face and the rest of her hair was pulled back into a low ponytail by a long black ribbon. She wore a black tank top and short tan pants that was ripped at the end of her thigh. The chains were still wrapped around her chest and her right arm. Rikku sat up slowly and went eye level with Hige. "Whoa.... Your eyes.... Their two different colors" Hige said staring into Rikku's eyes, who blushed. Rikku's left eye was blue and her right eye was green. Tsume stared at those eyes and got lost in her beautiful, multicolored orbs. He started to feel something in his heart, like something was pulling at it. It was new to him, so he shrugged it off. Rikku's and tsume's eyes made contact. She smiled and he's face heated up. Tsume turned away quickly. He heard the small laughter from her. "I never seen anything like your eyes�" Toboe looked into her eyes too. Rikku closed her eyes and looked away "this is uncomfortable..." Rikku rubbed her chained arm and flinched. Everyone was silent "Where you heading Rikku?" Toboe broke the silent. "To�Rakuen. I have to find someone on the way there..." Rikku replied still holding her arm. "Were going to Rakuen too!" Hige gladly stated "Maybe we should travel together!" Toboe added to Hige's statement just as glad. Rikku smiled. "If your leader lets me" The two looked at Kiba, who arched an eye but quickly went down. "if she wants to come...it's her choice." Kiba looked towards the cave entrance. "Welcome to the pack!" Toboe smiled.
A Few days has past since Rikku joined the Wolf's Rain pack. They ran across the rising and falling of the sun, the rising of the moon, glowed on their backs giving them more strength to run longer. The moon falls letting the sun rise again. But the sky was cloudy so the sun wasn't seen. "I had dreamed of Rakuen...we were all laying around in wild purple and red flowers, I think they were lunar flowers and Humans was welcoming us and comforting us. There was food and everything, even music�" Toboe said as the gang sat down on the snow hill. Hige was lying up on the hill. Rikku sitting next to Toboe listening at what he was saying. Tsume was sitting a few ways from all of them. Kiba sitting above the gang. "Hey runt, have you even seen lunar flowers before?" Hige asked Toboe, who looked down "No" Hige continued "So how you know what it looks like?" Rikku cut in "Hey, he can dream! We'll soon figure out what lunar flowers look like when we get the chance." Hige jumped at Rikku suddenly talking back "well�um�yeah..." Hige said nervously. Toboe laughed at Hige. Hige glared and headlocked toboe. Rikku laughed at the two. Tsume looked at Rikku's smiling face. He looked away, feeling the same tug again. Kiba got up "Lets go" he walked past the fighting wolves, who paused. Hige let go of toboe and walked off laughing. Toboe pouted, he jumped at Rikku's hand on his shoulder. She continued walking. Toboe run to her side. Tsume walked behind them. The wind started to freeze up more. The wolf's rain gang saw a forest and went straight for it. The forest was a little warmer but it was still cold. At least it's better then outside. As the pack walked through the forest they came to a city. Hige stopped and looked back. Making the gang look back also "hmm�I wonder if there�s any rabbits?" Hige muttered. Toboe heard and laughed "in other words your hungry huh?" He chuckled "Hell yeah! We didn't eat anything for weeks" Hige groaned making Toboe laughed again. "We'll find a place to rest in the city" Kiba informed "yeah we'll meet back up,� Rikku added. Tsume went his own way, walking off without saying a word. Rikku watched his back. "What�s wrong with him?" she asked no one in particularly. "Don't know.... Maybe that�s just the way he is." Toboe answered. Rikku looked back "I'm going to talk to him" she started to walk "you think that�s a good idea?" Hige asked, "come on. What could happen that�s bad?" Rikku ran off.
