For a week you have been wondering about Cleo, and finally you decide to go visit her. Maybe the egg has hatched! you think to yourself. It takes you much longer to find the stairway; when you do, it is very long and narrow, different from before. It is almost an hour before you reach the peak of the foggy mountain. Cleo's magic light is dimmer than usual, and you almost miss a note nailed to a tree. Friend, if you've managed to time it so that you come as soon as I am out on errands, than I'm sorry about the stairwell. I haven't figured out how to keep the enchantment going strong while I'm not here. The egg has hatched! Go see Dalicent, he is quite beautiful, a lovely purple. He'll probably be sleeping, but maybe the twiluu will be awake; that egg has hatched into a lovely little fawn! Make sure she doesn't follow you home, as she has tried to do so several times before (with other visitors). Thanks, Cleozabeth. You smile, and head over to the nest. Before you reach it, a small deer-like creature approaches you. "Oh, hello, you must be the twiluu. You look a lot like a deer, did you know?"
The fawn only regards you curiously with her large eyes. "I guess not," you say to yourself, and continue on. Inside the nest, you find a small purple dragon hatchling. Although you are not truly surprised to see it there, you still find youself excited to be seeing a real dragon. Although you thought it asleep at first, it rolls over and blinks, laying its head on its paws. "Hello," you say.
[Hello,] says a quiet voice in your head. "You can talk?" you ask it, thouroughly surprised. [Of course I can talk,] it replies. "Right.. of course." The small dragon is very intelligent, but dreamy, and you continue your conversation for some time. "So," you say, "I'd best be going. Maybe next time I come back, you'll be.. umm..." [A dragonet?] the hatchling finishes. "Right," you say, and head back for the stairs. The twiluu follows you, and you have to repetitively say "Noo, stay here," in order to insure it does not follow you home. Finally it gets the idea, and trots back, just as you begin down the first step. Good, you think to yourself, I was worrying I would have to walk the whole way backwards. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
