Brian has always been one of the more upbeat members of the Dog Kennel, and is quite frequently the most vocal supporter of the team. It was this quality that gives him the needed skills to be the Vice President of Player Morale. Quite simply, his motor never stops running, and he's always supportive of his teammates.
His story started back in 1969 in the town of Mitchell, SD. With two brothers and one sister, Brian was never without the support group that he's passed on. While attending Mitchell High School through 1988, Brian played football, but also was involved in other activities, such as playing that favorite drinking game, quarters. He was also involved in what he refers to as the buff 400 run, of which he partook more than once. When pressed for more information about this event, Brian simply replied, "It's just the way it sounds." |

After graduation, Brian's memory seems to have faded a bit, as there are gaps in his life that even he can't explain. This may be in no small part to the quarters he played while in high school, or quite possibly to some strange side effects of the buff 400.
Upon joining the Kennel, Brian was rudely welcomed in his first scrimmage with a bat upside the noggin. While a bat to the head most certainly won't hurt anyone on this team, the rather large gash that he incurred over one eye had us wondering if he'd be able to finish the practice, or if we'd have to fine him for not showing up in game shape. After a quick fix-em-up, Brian was off to the hospital for stitches. |

In 1996, Brian married his longtime girlfriend, Christine. When not supporting her husband, Christine is found immersed in her studies, although she will be graduating shortly after this is written. Brian and Christine have two dogs, and enjoy camping together whenever they have the time.
Among the things that Brian still wants to accomplish, both as a Kennel member, and in his everyday life are hitting for the cycle, becoming independantly wealthy and always improving the morale, and morals of the team that he's become a large part of, despite his rather small stature.
One of the stories Brian related to us was something which shows just how much fierce determination and guts this man has. While in high school, he was diagnosed with a hernia. The surgery was scheduled for the next day, but Brian had no transportation. Rather than bother anyone for a ride, Brian jumped on his bike and painfully trekked the four blocks to the hospital. While Brian didn't ride his bike home after the surgery, he did hop in a boat with a buddy and proceed to drink a few beers. Brian said it was a necessity since he hadn't had one in a few days.
One of the crazier things Brian has done is practice Pete Rose type slides on the driveway of his friend. Come to think of it, this may also explain his lack of memory between high school and the present. |
