A selection of supplies will be maintained in the Band Hall office. Please see the enclosed price list for pricing of supplies. Checks are to be made to Graham Junior High School Band. If you require supplies other than those on the price list, please call one of the music retailers listed and ask them to bring it to GJHS for you. Please make every effort to purchase supplies before or after school. Supplies may not be available immediately before your class time.
PERFORMANCES
PARTICIPATION IN BAND EVENTS IS REQUIRED OF ALL BAND MEMBERS. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT PARTICIPATE WILL HAVE THEIR GRADES REDUCED. YOU WILL HAVE A CALENDAR WELL IN ADVANCE. PLEASE REFER TO IT BEFORE SCHEDULING ANY APPOINTMENTS.
Excused absences will be accepted for personal illness, conflict with other school activities, and academic ineligibility (applies only to some activities). Absences will not be excused for reason such as transportation problems, conflicts with non-school activities, and other reasons. Every effort must be made to contact the band director before an absence from an event.
REPAIRS
Due to the amount of students not paying for repairs, the following procedure is now in effect.
1. Complete repair form available in the Band Hall.
2. Turn in completed form (with parent signature) to a director. Also provide instrument to be repaired.
3. When the repair is made, a bill for the service will be enclosed with the instrument.
4. Make check out to repair shop specified on the bill.
5. Give payment to a director and the repaired instrument will be returned.
INSTRUMENT INSURANCE
It is suggested that parents purchase insurance for their child�s band instrument. While many homeowners� policies cover band instruments, they often have a high deductible or do not cover all types of losses. Insurance is often available from music retailers or from Music Agency Inc. Applications from Music Agency, Inc. are available from the band director or call 800-421-1283. Their website is http://www.musicagencyinc.com. This insurance is not required and is no way connected to the band program at Graham JHS.
