~An excellent beginers book on what kind of dog to get and how to care for it.  Talks in depth on each breeds needs and personalities.
DOG OWNER'S HOME VETERINARY HANDBOOK
~
MUST HAVE It has just everything, including care for Sr dogs.  lump, bumps and breaks. 
Of course then I send them to the vet but at least you have an idea of what is going on.  Not for the squeemish.
HOME REMEDIES FOR DOGS AND CATS
Simple remedies that you can use at home.

THE DOG'S DRUGSTORE
Only use if you know what you are doing.  It has useful info.

BREEDING A LITTER
Very helpful for diet ect on a bitch.  Not everyone should breed though and I will not recomend for just anyone.

UC DAVIS BOOK OF DOGS
Vet book .  Not for general care.  Hard reading unless you know what you are looking for. 

HOW TO BE YOUR DOGS BEST FRIEND
By the Monks of New Skete.  Very nice traing book.  Has some good techniques that anyone can use.

Agility Training
Well writen book.  Has run setups, commands, how to build jumps ect.  A must have if you want to get into agility training or just give your dog something fun to do.
