EUROPEAN CAR OF THE YEAR 2005
The pioneer Prius of 1997 set a standard for clean emission among petrol-powered cars but toyota's first hybrid lacked performance, handling and refinement. The car of the year 2005 is everything the original was not. It has appealing look sand good accomodation. Performance is relatively lively, with the availability of 110 HP when combining the thrust of the Atkinson-cycle engine and the electric motor. Fuel economy may be outstanding when a gentle driving style is applied, encouraged by the character of this vehicle. At the touch of a button, it can even run silently as a pure electric vehicle but the batteries alone won't take you very far.

BRIEF HISTORY OF CARS
The Car, as we know was not created one day by one person. In 1769, the first car was invented by French Engineer and mechanic, Nicolas Joseph. That car was a steam powered car and its speed was 2.5 mph on three wheels. It had to stop every ten to fifteen for a steam build up. In 1771, Cugnot drove his vehicle into a stone wall and this was perhaps the first automobile accident. Steam engine powered cars burnt fuel that heated water in a boiler, creating steam that drives the automobile. This system was also used in locomotives. Between 1832 and 1839, Robert Anderson of Scotland invented the first electric carriage. Electric cars contained a small motor with rechargeable batteries. These vehicles were expensive, slow and needed to be stopped frequently for recharging. As a result, these were abandoned in favour of gas powered vehicles Between 1680 and 1890 several people designed and developed the internal combustion engine. This system uses an explosive combustion of fuel to push a piston within a cylinder, the piston's movement turns a crankshaft, which in turn moves the car wheels via a chain. This system started with a two stroke and four stroke engine and then improved to 4 wheeled automobiles. The cars that we are driving at this modern age are as a result of this constantly improving technology.

ECONOMY CARS
An economy car is a car that is designed for its low cost operation. They are small, easy to maintain and inexpensive to buy. Most of the lower and middle class income people around the globe purchase these cars for cheap maintenance and their price. But these cars have no extraordinary features that make them unique except for their low fuel consumption and the comfort they offer for that price.
