LOVE, INK, AND BLOOD
            BY MATT SCHMELTZER

Love, its a story of a boy and a girl. They glance into each others eyes and are lost, lost in a world of never ending happiness and joy. They look deep into each others souls and search, for the one thing theyve always been looking for. Once thats found their thoughts, feelings, their very souls intertwine till you cant mention one with out the other. This is true love. It can sometimes be hard to see at first. Sometimes it can take the thought that you cant live without that person to realize that you love them. This happens very often and is really sad because sometimes they do lose the one they truly love.

The following is such a story. So sit back and enjoy.

This is the story of David and Jennifer. David was a sensible guy, always looking for a mental challenge to over come no matter how many he had passed or failed. He had fallen subject to one of the most tragic things for a young man. He fell in love with a 59 angel. She, Jennifer, had shoulder-length brown hair and the deepest, most passionate brown eyes. She was the object of perfection to David. She was taller then most freshmen girls, and was athletic. One of her best features is that she was popular, beautiful and smart enough to be in with the preppy crowd. But she, like most people, wouldnt ever want to be one of them.

Now David wasnt exactly handsome, but he was very impressive. He was 63 tall and weighed 280 lbs.
He was both one of the biggest and nicest people in his freshmen class. And he was big ALL over. Which is kind of whats both impressive and not so about him. But, he was respected throughout. We start our story in a freshmen science class. (**= This indicates personal thoughts of either David or Jennifer) ** OH MAN!!! Another BORING day in Mr. Williams class. But, at least I get to see her. Man, shes SOOO beautiful. How could a guy like me ever get through to her how he feels? May be if I was better looking**
DavidDAVID! Are you paying attention??
Uh yes Mr. Williams.
Then answer me.
David looked up at the board and saw the word diamond at the head of a graph, then took a second to think of what they were studying.
The isotopes of diamond are silicon and graphite.  He said finally
Very good. Next time less stammering.
Everyone laughed.
Alright. The term will be over in the next 3 weeks and you all know what that means.
There was a loud moan from the entire class.
Thats right, the End of term project. This time youll write a detailed report of any mineral, rock, or crystal. But this time, I pick groups. Everyone knew how hed split them up. The same way he always did. Which was fine with David cause he didnt sit next to anyone. He was going around noting to see of everyone was in their spot then stopped at the middle table.
3 people in one group? No, Jennifer move back there with David.
David couldnt believe his ears. She was going to sit by him? Awesome. That meant that theyd be partners. But then David suddenly felt sick. He was afraid that he might embarrass himself in front of her that wasnt al together encouraging.
Ok we all know who our groups are and you have everything you need. Class dismissed.
No sooner had he said the words then David was down the hall and into his next class. Study hall, which would be more aptly named social hall because none of the teachers really cared what we did. This was his favorite class of the day because of that reason and he sat with his best friend, matt.
 Hey man, whats up??
Not much, you?
You wouldnt believe it. Ya know those projects that Mr. Williams makes us do for the end of term? Well, for this one me and Jennifer are working on it together.
Jennifer, you mean the same one you got a crush. Matt said kinda loudly.
SHUT UP! Unless you want me to mention
Man shut your mouth
 Then you do the same.
And so the conversation went in for the rest of the day.

When David got home he went through his daily chore routines and everything then went down to his room and got ready to call Jennifer and start working on the project. Ok I got the papers, extra scrap paper, pencil pen, what am I missing? Duhh, the telephone. God Im such an idiot. He nervously dialed the number Jennifer had given him after class and waited.
Ring, ring hello?
 Hello is Jennifer there?
Yeah this is her.
 Oh hey, this is David.
Oh hey David! Sorry didnt recognize your voice.
Thats ok.
So have you thought of what well be doing the project on?
Not really. Havent thought about it too much.
 Me either.
Hey you hear coach talking bout the state meet? I think were gonna kick butt.
 Yeah totally.
So they kept talking for most of the night. Neither of them wanted to get off the phone. They enjoyed the sound of each others voice.
