Like many, many other pit bulls these days, Ruby spent most of her puppyhood alone and neglected in her owner's side yard. She had only a few yards of dirt to call home. Somehow during those desolate months, Ruby managed to break her front legs, and her owner never had them attended to by a vet. So now Ruby's legs are a little crooked, but we think it gives her character! In all this, fate did smile upon Ruby, for she lived next door to one of BAD RAP's volunteer foster homes. When she finally managed to dig under the fence, the kind foster mom next door made a beeline for Ruby's previous owners and talked them into surrendering her to BAD RAP. Since then, Ruby has enjoyed the love and attention of one of the kindest people on this planet, and has blossomed into one of the sweetest dogs we've known. She is smaller in size, around 50 pounds. She was raised with kitties and rabbits and we think she would do quite well in a home with cats, with supervision of course! She's crate trained and housebroken, and is now about a year old. Her legs will probably always be a little crooked, and she might develop some arthritis as she grows older, but she definitly doesn't let it slow her down! We think Ruby would thrive as an only dog. Spayed and up to date on shots, all that's left to make this the happiest ending ever is you! |
