It's hard for me to recall every single site or happening in my entire existence in petz. I can't tell my true "full" story as I don't even remember everything that's happened. I was pretty young when I started playing and my horrid memory doesn't help, haha. However, I'll do my best to tell you the important and basic stuff.
When my dad first bought me Dogz I, I was hooked as soon as I adopted my first Bootz. He was brown, pretty funny-looking now that I think about it, and fun to watch. I played more than a normal child should, and loved every second of it. At this point, of course, what did I know about the actual community that is amazing game fostered on the internet. In this time oh so long ago, I didn't even care what the hell the internet was. I just wanted my petz game, please and thank you.
I discovered petz sites (not the community, but just downloadable breedz sites) through, I think, Petz II which had the little ad on the CD saying you could go to petz.com and download the dalmatian and the remote control car toy. I somehow located a few breedz sites and wanted to find more. I didn't even know how to get them into my game or the links were broken, but I strived to find more sites just to see what else was out there. So I kept on looking and found some more stuff. I went through each version of Petz working up to Petz III. I am almost positive the first "real" petz site I found was called Briar Petz or something. It had lots of adoptions and downloadable petz. I was a total noob and I applied for this (I think) Sunshine Dobe that I fell in love with. I mean I fell HARD. She was cream colored with like orange points. Gorgeous in my eyes, at the time. I e-mailed the owner of the site and never got a reply. I kept going at it until I got an annoyed response, and eventually never even got the dog. I admit, I would have been annoyed too. But c'mon, I was a total newbie. Cut me some slack. Lol.
So I started a crappy little site on AOL Hometown or whatever it's called. I didn't realize that you had to advertise your site. I thought members just popped out of nowhere pretty much, lolz. So I had that up for a good amount of time. I went through a few little sites and such before I met the owner of Gringo Kennelz. Stacy was her name. I am very thankful to her, as she started me off in hexing and HTML. She taught me the basics which got me going to learn more. I moved up in the hexer ranks, learning new things through tutorials and such. I went through some more sites and just kept going.
I went through many petz phases in my time. Mixies, dane mixies, wild dogz, hexies, everything. Show dogz really caught my attention, but I did fall out of the loop a few times and got bored. Let's fast forward now since the rest isn't very important. Here I am now, able to hex decently, read code and HTML well, and back into showing dogz. I still love everything else, but showing just appeals to me most. So there it is, my long life story in petz cut a little bit short. :]
