Siberian Huskies are a comparitavely lightweight haulage dog, well known through the popularity of sled dog racing. Many Siberians are shown and kept as companions, and they adapt well to a temperate climate. The light blue eyes are very common in this breed of dog. They are by nature friendly, gentle in temperament, independent, and very alert, but do not have the aggressive or protective qualities of a watch dog. They are very adaptable to all kinds of living conditions, but possess a strong desire to roam, making it necessary to have them under control at all times.
