It is said that the Shih-Tzu was developed by the Chinese by crossing Pekingese with Lhasa Apso's. It is pronounced Shidzoo, which in Chinese means "Lion Dog." This breed is classified as a toy breed. This is an elegant long-coated breed. Height: 10-1/2 inches at the shoulder. Black noses, lips and eye rims. Daily brushing is essential. This breed is very lively, and they love to go for walks. A great pet for apartment dwellers.
