| 'Doei' (Dutch for 'bye bye') is a tv-series about a girlsband with obstacles. Vicky, Petra, Fem and Joye are not only aiming for glamour, glitter, fame and fortune. No, they want to do more with their music. But can you make a living on principles? And how do you keep your ideals from getting wet, in a world that turns around because of the money? Is it possible to make beautiful music, if you want to tell something to your audience? |
| 'Doei' is an attempt to make a DIFFERENT kind of televisie. Not only concerning the content, but also in the way a story is told. Time has no rules in the stories of 'Doei', one moment the camera pops up in the past, next he is in the far future. Every episode is full of quotations from movies (like episode 22 'Casablanca'), or references to other televsionprograms. The makers call that 'Doei-esque' and try to find back the adventure in making television. Because there are so many other things you can do with a camera than switching it on. 'Doei' is strange and surprising, 'Doei' is different and crazy' 'Doei' isn't just television, but a goal for every vcr. So, watch it! 'Doei' is - for the main part - written by Dick van den Heuvel, who was also the creative director on the project. The directors were Ruud Hendriks, John R�der and Jelle Nesna. The music is composed by Fons Merkies and Dick Kok. Starring (look at the picture above, from left to right) Annemiek van der Veer, Liesbeth Kamerling, Megna Kumar en Cynthia de Graaff.
