Canadian Dodge Weapons Carrier T236 - D3/4 APT
Well...what can I say other than there are far too few pictures around of Canadian Dodges ! So I thought I'd stick a few snaps on a page of my own. Despite being a grand old lady of 55 she's still going strong, she's been round most of Europe and regularly gets to off-road masquerading as a US WC52 in re-enactments. A badly adjusted clutch meant the crank eventually slipped and knackered my conn rods...after 2 years she was back on the road after tracking down original parts & thanks to the mechanical skills of Royston at Caterham Cars. Why did it take so long ??? Well....if I had a pound for every time someone told me that there's no difference between Canadian and US Dodges, and that engine parts are easy to get, I'd be a rich man by now...
October 2000, Mereworth in Kent - Emerging from the river with a motley crew of GI's..... what a way to celebrate succesfully running in the rebuilt original engine ! ===>

....& if you'd love to drive on the D-Day beaches but getting there is too far... here's a piccy of me steering towards the remains of 'Port Winston', the Mulberry Harbour on Gold Beach..... =====>
D Day + 55 (years) 7:00am 6th June 1999, Gold Beach. I'd resigned myself to cancelling my ferry tickets when, 2 days before catching the ferry, my mate Phil offered his T214 engine..the fact it had been stuck in a barn for 7 years, was no excuse !! Only when we tried to line up the bolt holes did my mates believe my plea's of "the T236 is 2 1/2 inches bigger !".... Refusing to be beaten we knocked up some engine mounts out of WWII British tent pegs...kept our fingers crossed...prayed... kissed it....and eventually fired it up. I ran it with that T214 block, & the tent pegs, for a year !!!
