On 29 November 1948, 1200 people, including Prime Minister Ben Chifley, watched the presentation of the 1st Australian Car, The HOLDEN, designated 48-215 and fondly know asthe FX was a six-cylinder, four door, six seater sedan. |
1948 - November, launch of 1st Holden by Prime Minister Ben Chifley. 1953 - Maiy, Holden produces its 100,000th car, an 48-215 (FX). 1956 - January, Holden produces its 250,000th car, an FJ. 1957 - Holden produz the 1st Station Wagon, based on FE Sedan. 1958 - October, Holden produces its 500,000th car, an FC. 1962 - Holden produces 1 milionth, an EJ. 1966 - Australian safety first.
