ABOUT DODGE BROTHERS SENIOR SIX 1927-28 DODGE BROTHERS SENIOR SIX � SERIES 2249 Introduced in may 1927 The Dodge Senior Six Series was the first of three new lines that the company introduced in late 1927 for the 1928 model year. Appearance features included a narrow, nickel plated radiator sell, new horizontal hood louvers, double body bead moldings and swinging type windshields. The Senior Six was aimed at the high-priced market and had 116-inch wheelbase. Standard equipment included a Stromberg carburetor, Northeast ignition, four-wheel hydraulic brakes, worn and sector steering and an I-bean front axle. The Senior Six entered production in may, 1927. I. D. DATA Serial numbers were located on a plate on the toe board near the steering column; also stamped on right front frame, below fender. Starting IS 10001 ending IS 29156. Engine number were located on the left rear side of cylinder block, right of cylinder block and right side (either front or rear) below exhaust manifold. Starting: S10001. Ending S25109. Wind wings (open models). 1928 DODGE BROTHERS SENIOR SIX � SERIES 2251 & 2252 In January 1928, the Senior Six received a few Changes and became a �true� 1928 Series designated with the number 2251. One change was the addition of Sports model with welled fenders, side mount spares, wire spoke wheels, larger headlamps with a nickel-platel tie bar and vertical stanchions, cow lamps, a nickel-plated cowl molding trunk rack. The Sport sedan was the first to appear. It debuted in January. Sport equipment became available for other body stiles later in the year. There was also a change in the engine, which increased its horse power to 68. When equipped with standard tires, the Senior Six was designated Series 2251; with oversize tires, series 2252. I. D.
