The Dodge City Desperados run through the 2005 World Series officially ended on Monday morning around 3:00 a.m. The Desperados were eliminated from the World Series by their own league nemisis, the Park City Cowboys by a score of 5-4
While the defeat left an immediate bad taste in the mouths of the Desperados and their fans, the thrill of showing so well in the series soon overtook those feelings.
Dodge City finished the season with a final record of 35-33. The record is a testament to the players and the coaches having done this in only 72 days.
Throughout the season, the Desperados set many goals and attained all. Several players also received some individual honors.
Jacob Morales (3b/1b) was named to the "All Walter Johnson League" team, while Cody Person(pitcher) and Toro Trevino(pitcher/catcher) were given "Honorable Mention".
Cody Staten (infielder) and Gilbert Curiel(shortstop) were named to the "All Midwest Regional" team.
There is also the possibility of other awards to follow.
Now that the season has come to a close, the staff of the Desperados will be hard at work to insure that the 2006 season gets off to a great start.
The staff is currently preparing proposals for advertisers and sponsors in a variety of sponsorship levels to begin their quest toward a return to the World Series. |
