Liberation of Paris

During the Liberation of Paris in World War II, my Dad, Roy Earl Dodd left his mark on the landscape of Paris.

After a night of taking in too much of the Parisian hospitality, he drove his jeep over the curb at the most famous turn about in the world, the Arc de Triomphe.

The good news is that he got to spend an additional month in Paris. The bad news is that because of the unauthorized use of a military vehicle and the damage caused to the same, he got spend part of his extended stay in the brig.

Nevertheless, this year the Dodd's return to to Paris and to the D-Day beaches to walk where my Daddy walked.

Sunday, September 26th We arrive shortly after the sun rises in Paris.  After shuttling to our hotel to drop off our bags, we will take in the sights of the Rue Cler until our room opens up for a nap. That evening we will visit the American Church nearby and because of the nine hours difference in time zones, we will be in church the same time as all of you in Portland.  God bless you.
Monday, September 27th This will be a great day with our friends Richard and June of Portland, Oregon.  They are at the end of their month long trip in France and we are looking forward to enjoying the day with them, eating delicious French cuisine and practicing our French that our humble professor Anne taught us.
