All
About Me Project
This is
a fun project that will let the children get to know each other better!
Each student is responsible for making a collection of items that represents
him or her. We will discuss ideas in class, and we will also complete
some activities that will aid in making the project at home. Then,
students will show-off their creative collection and tell the class about
it starting on
September 8, 2004.
Each
student is expected to have a collection of personally important items
and a written paper to accompany it. Students may use their ALL ABOUT ME posters as the written portion of this project.
Here
are the things I would like to be included in the project:
Where
you were born?
Who
are your parents/guardians?
What
do your parents do?
Where
do you live?
Do you participate in any groups within your community?
Do you
have brothers/sisters? What are they like?
Do you
have pets? What are they like?
What
are some of your favorite things?
What
makes you a special individual?
There
are several creative ways to approach this project and in creating the ALL ABOUT ME posters. Some students use pictures or magazine clippings. Here's a link that offers suggestions:

Every
student who completes the project will receive a passing grade. Please
aid your child with the project, but do not do it for them!!! I'm
looking for 7-year-old work. I suggest practicing reporting about
the collection to some family members before the big day. Here's
some things I will be looking for during their presentations:
-
Student
looks at the audience (eye contact)
-
Student
speaks loudly/clearly
-
The written
paper has capital letters, correct punctuation, and sentences that make
sense.
-
Student
has a special prop
-
Student
has included all of the expected items of information
-
GRAND TOTAL
SCORE: _______/100
Projects
are DUE September 8, 2004!
