Dear Parents,
I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to welcome your child to my class! A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. I look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish this year.

My expectations for academic standards and conduct are high. With your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together. You can help by providing me with any information that will aid me in better understanding your child. If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know. Any help you can give will be warmly appreciated.

There is a tool that the students will be utilizing everyday this school year, which will aid in your childs success. It is the M.O.O.S. E. notebook (Management of Organizational Skills Everyday). More information about this notebook will be provided as we begin to use it. This organizational tool does require the use of some additional supplies. Students will need a 1 binder (with a clear sleeve pocket around the front) by August 13, 2004. If this is inconvenient please let me know and I will get extras ahead of time. I have priced them in the past, and Staples usually has the best deals on the binders. I will get the other supplies used to create the notebook (such as the nylon zipper pouch, plastic sleeves, file folders, labels, etc.). I do understand that the thought of rounding up another school supply for the M.O.O.S.E notebook is unappealing, but I can assure you that the advance preparations will be well worth the benefits acquired this year.

Again welcome! Our Parent Curriculum Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 26th at 6:00 p.m. Please feel free to contact me about any questions or concerns you may have, to which I will respond as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Michelle Dodd
