| Setting New Reading Goals The first nine weeks are over, and now we are ready to start making some goals we can accomplish!! For this second nine weeks, your child has a new AR goal. For most students the new goal is 10 points in addition to the ones they have already earned. The AR points are cumulative and the more points earned the better the rewards! A weekly summary of tests and points will come home in the Wednesday folder. Students that accomplish their goal will also be entered into the "Read to Achieve" Huntsville Flight contest. At Bookadventure.com your child can be logging in and taking tests on books they are reading at home! The site also helps students find books that interest them, as well as neat activities. Students can also find out about prizes that they can earn by participating. Parents can create an account and log in too! I will send home your child's user name and password if they do not remember it, or how to log in. |
| Parent Conferences Conferences will be scheduled with each parent. Please look for your conference time and date coming home with your child. If the scheduled conference time is inconvenient, please let me know a better time that will work for you. |
| What's Going On We are beginning a unit on Earth, Our Home, where we will explore different landforms, bodies of water, places, and natural resources. We will apply what we have learned about lifecycles and discover the living process of plant life. We will also be exploring some of our world's different kinds of animals and habitats beginning with a unit on nocturnal animals. |
