I went on a journey.

I closed my eyes, and went on a journey.

I found myself at Waylands Smithy. I was standing amongst the mighty beeches at the entrance to the barrow.
I was alone with a sense of the air moving, and the light playing.
I felt the greeness of the place and its ancient voice became my own.
I started to speak of the Goddess; she that sustains us, provides for and nurtures us, maid- mother- crone, the rich fertile soil that brings forth our being; child bearing mother, fecund, laden with fruit and promise of harvest beyond fullness of summer,

Sustainer provider bringer of life, rich fertile earth

Down the old track my words spiralled and lead; heart rhythm drum beat, maid maturing to mother the sanctity of blood ,birth pain initiation, bearer of sorrow, abandoned, forgotten, neglected, shroud wrapping soul taker who mourns alone, but loves constantly,

Lover mother wrapper of souls

In a dusty lane at Avebury I met Summer, now passed her first flush of young green gowns frothed with cow parsley, and standing sure, in her centre.  Summer showed me a plate of words that spiralled outward in, a tale with beginning and centre and all the trials of the goddess in between; too much pain, blood and woe I thought! So willing, this woman, to take on the woes of the world.

Then beneath dappled hedgerow shaded tracery Summer opened to me, giving her softness without condition;  and in joining with Summer I became part of her sorrow, and in parting, I felt the loss of seperation.

There my journey ended..

The above account happend to me one ealy evening whilst lying relaxing on my bed. I didn't sleep, it wasn't a dream, nor was it a day dream, I know the difference. This was more real, everything seemed brighter and more actual.  I have been left with a sense of longing, and also of a desire to know more, to travel again.
