1965 - 2005 and still ticklin' the ivories!!

The Omens were a 1965 garage rock band from the far, far southside of Chicago. Actually, from Hammond, Indiana. I played keyboards with them for a while (Wurlitzer electric piano and Farfisa combo organ). Their hit songs were Searching (click link to listen)"and Girl Get Away(click link to listen)" Surprisingly, while doing a search on Napster, I found "Searching". Further research found that the Omens were included in several compilations of 60's music, which can be purchased at the amazon.com links below

The Omens consisted of:

Don Revercomb, guitar and vocals
Gene Cooper, guitar
Larry Allen, bass guitar
Tim Jones, drums
Duane O'Donnell, keyboards

Carol, Don's girlfriend, also sang several songs, and recorded "As Tears Go By" as an alternate B side.

I don't remember ever getting paid for any of the gigs we did. Whatever we made was given to WLTH DJ Ron Borden, to play our record on his Gary, Indiana radio show, announce where we were playing, and showing up to introduce the band.

We played at teen clubs like the Hullabaloo in Gary, the Shindig in Portage, and the "Black Knight" in Glen Park, and the Whiskey A Go Go in Chicago.
