Hasmonean Lineage

The Maccabean revolt is noted by thru the Apocrypha in the 1^st Maccabees and 2^nd Maccabees stories which tells of the dynasty which lasted from ~163 BCE to ~ 37 BCE. As one can see that the Hasmoneans did marry off daughters and formed ties with the Edomite/idumean Herodian line.The Hasmoneans revolted due to the Greek Seleucids wanting to control the area further banned the jews from having their religious practices, which angered the people to revolt, which they did.
