About the Doctor Who flash game

This project came about by three things:
1.The ABC's broadcasting of Doctor Who episodes starting at the first (until this I had never seen an episode of it before).
2.A background in programming cheap, tacky flash games to whittle away the hours
3.My suprise at the distinct lack of Doctor Who license video games on the market. (actually this did not surprise me at all, but still it contributed into making me want to make one so I could play it)

My original idea of the game was to have a scrolling platform type game where you had to jump over Dalek lasers, but I soon leant towards having episode-based games, so I didn't have to come up with any originality whatsoever.

I chose the second story of the series, The Daleks, mainly because I had plans of how I could do it and because I could cash in on the public's inexplicable love of the Daleks (please don't point out the irony of this, I know I'm distributing this freely). 

In the first episode, The Dead Planet, the TARDIS lands, they see a mutant creature in a forest, they see a city, and the Doctor empties the TARDIS's fluid link of mercury so he could sway his companions into exploring the city as they did not want to. At present, the Doctor only moves around a TARDIS-like background. The plan for this is that the Doctor will walk along, and spill mercury on the pressing of a button (probably SPACE). Random companions will come across the screen at random times, and if they catch you - you lose a life (a sound of footsteps will be the warning). I also plan to add a TARDIS landing game before this, where you get to press a bunch of buttons, but this will come later.

The menu is loosely based on the DVD menu of The Aztecs - and I have no idea what I'll put in the Special Features section, but I'll think about it.

The full game (aside from parts of the menu) will include no colour to give the full authentic Doctor Who experience.
