ORIGIN: Emily grew up wanting for nothing on the rich estate of her family. Her mother died when Emily was still young and |

|
|
so her grandmother, Gertrude Merryweather, came to help look after her. Since Emily's father was away more often than not on business Emily and her Grandmother spend a great deal of time together. They loved each other's company and spent almost every waking hour together. Gertrude would tell Emily of the world and of all the crazy things she got up to as a youngster. When they weren't talking Gertrude was teaching Emily archery. Gertrude was in her 80's and yet still retained the physicality of a healthy person half her age. Gertude also was a champion archer, having won four Olympic medals and numerous World Championships in the event. It looked as though Emily was to be as good, if not better, than her elderly tutor; but one day Gertrude vanished without a trace. It was a year or two after this before the first appearance of Emily as Merryweather - the pieces in between are still being pieced together by B.S.P operatives. One thing is for sure, Emily is still searching for her grandmother, although we may never be sure if she'll ever find her.
Of Merryweather's abilities we can say this: she is an excellent marksman with any projectile, although she is best with her bow. The arrows she carries have interesting properties. She refers to them as 'elemental arrows'. Each has a particular element assigned to it, when fired these arrows seem to take of the traits of their element. For example, if a lightning arrow is fired a lightning bolt will strike where it falls; a fire arrow will produce a fire ball etc. More dangerous than the arrows themselves however is Emily's ability, and desire, to use them. |
