| ORIGIN: Bruce Widdow was born in Ballaria, a small country now ruled by | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| an evil dictator by the name of Adolf Stalin. Bruce lead a revolution against the despot but all of his comerades were killed in the assault - Bruce stood alone against Adolf Stalin in his throne room. It was here that Stalin revealed the secret to his power; a powerful gauntlet called the Emperor's Gauntlet. It gave it's wearer super strength and nigh invulnerability. Bruce fought hard but was easily defeated and left for dead. He lived however, but by the time he got home he found it burning - his family killed. Bruce vowed then never to attack unprepared again. t was his rashness that lead to his defeat. He knew he had to find a way to destroy the infinity Gauntlet and so he left Ballaria and travelled all over the continent, seeking some kind of antidote to the poison that infected his country. Eventually he heard of rumours that there was a similar Gauntlet buried somwhere in the south, on another continent. Bruce took the first boat to Australis. There he got a job teahing in Morelly University while he continued his work lookig for the Gauntled. It was here that he met his long time partner Ross Maul, another lecturer at the University. Ross had already begun his costumed career as Captain Maul and Bruce agreed to join with him in his desires to do good. Eventually Bruce dicovered a likely place to find the Gauntlet - a cave in the Anzack Hills. The hills that surround Morelly City are crawling with dead of soldiers from a long ago war. Bruce went anyways and found the cave he sought, and inside the Gauntlet he craved. Wasting no time he put it on. Nothing happened. Bruce was dissapointed but to his horror he couldn't remove it from his hand. Unwilling to part with his hand he kept the Gauntlet on. After more research he discovered that it was called the Pauper's Gauntlet, but no texts told him how to activate it's power, or if it even had any. The answer came in a way Bruce didn't expect. He woke up one morning to the news that Ballaria had a new ruler - a man named Victor Von Destrucksean. Bruce was amazed and watched the television intently, looking to see his homelands new ruler. The news showed Destrucksean walking out onto a high balcony and waving to the cheering people below. Bruce recognised straight away the Gauntlet on Destrucksean's hand. The evil in his land hadn't been overthrown - it had been replaced. |
