State Bred – Kentucky Is a Plus

While you can’t simply reduce things to Kentucky bred or not, it definitely is a plus and makes you feel more comfortable, warm and fuzzy when you see Kentucky Bred for anyone you want to support for the Run for the Roses. It just always is a tremendous plus for any Thoroughbred when you see Kentucky Bred.

The state bred can be used to caste a shadow of doubt on some, and throw others out. Since 1950 there have only been nine other geographic locations to breed a Kentucky Derby winner. So, any location other then those you see here for the Kentucky Derby winners since 1950 State Bred, immediately is very suspect for serious consideration for victories in the Triple Crown. In fact other than Florida, it is still pretty scary to want to jump on their band wagon. It has been a long drought for California, and every year there are contenders. It is really difficult to jump on that California band wagon though.
