Marc Chinn, MD, wins the UC Davis Pediatric Residency Triple-Crown

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) — The UC Davis Pediatric Residency program awarded Dr. Marc Chinn, an unprecedented 3 awards for his achievements within the program.  The awards are given by the 3 divisions that make up the School of Medicine: The Faculty, Residents and Students.  This marked the first time that a resident won all 3 honors during residency. 

 

Dr. Chinn won the following awards:

  1. Sugawara Leadership Award, 2005, voted by the residents and given to the resident who exemplifies qualities of a natural leader.
     
  2. Dennis Styne Academic Achievement Award, 2006, voted by the faculty and based on overall achievement during residency.
     
  3. Outstanding Teaching Award, 2006, voted by the 3rd & 4th year medical students and given to the resident who exemplifies the most outstanding teaching qualities.
     

Dr. Chinn was appreciative of the awards he received at the year-end celebration.  He credits his love and passion for Pediatrics as key forces for his success, as well as his family, faculty, students and co-residents.  Dr. Chinn will become an attending in General Pediatrics starting in July.
