I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish,
that I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me,
and heavier came each task;
I wondered, "Why doesn't God help me?"
He said, "Because you didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on gray and bleak;
I wondered, "Why didn't God show me?",
He said, "Because you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning
And paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
But this time I stopped to pray!

Sitting by the window,
gazing at the street,
We didn't say a word,
but our eyes did meet.
How can it be?
We'll just have to see,
Second time in class,
besides me you would seat.
If love is a rhythm,
I've found the perfect beat,
What draws me to you,
is a smile that's so sweet.
The
more I get to see you,
the more I believe,
that love is patient and love is kind,
it does not envy, it is divine.

I was in the dark,
but now I'm in the light,
God has delivered me from wrong,
and guided me to do what's right;
I thought I could do it,
all on my own,
but without God,
I feel alone;
I always try,
to do my best,
but without God,
I can't finish the rest;
Now I know,
the Bible is right,
and that's why I choose,
to walk in God's light.

When I run to you,
my problems fade,
You show me the light,
in in so many ways.
You make me strong,
when I am weak,
I run to you,
even in my sleep.
You show me love,
when I call,
You're always there,
when I fall.
All my problems,
seem to disappear,
Because your presence,
is so near.
This is why,
I run to you,
Because I know,
your love is true.
