First Car: McLaren F1

Brief History:

McLaren only built a grand total of 106 F1's, six distinctly different versions were available between it's 1992 debut and 1998 when the final road car rolled off the little production line. Included were 'stock' F1 road car's of which 64 were completed along with five prototypes and the F1 LM special edition, just five of these stunning 680bhp customer car's and one prototype 'Le Mans' being built.
The most numerous of these exceptionally rare McLaren automobiles were 'standard' F1 road cars that bristled with features and remain today, more impressive than any contemporary supercar. So McLaren went to BMW Motorsport who, by late 1991, had constructed a stunning all-new engine.
It was not until 1998 that the F1's definitive top speed was achieved though when McLaren ran prototype XP5 in standard trim at 240mph (396km/h) on VAG's high-speed Ehra-Leissen test track in Germany.
With a number plate like that it must be fast!
