Summary: This is how I wish the episode had ended.
"Someone To Watch Over Me"- An Alternate ending.

Setting- Cargo bay two- "Seven’s quarters"

"Well, good night, Seven, you are making true progress," the doctor said standing just inside the door of Seven’s "quarters", cargo bay two. As he turned to walk away Seven spoke up.

"Doctor, there is still a section of lesson ten that we have not covered," Seven said matter-of-factly as the Doctor gulped.

"Yes," he agreed, tugging at his collar.

"Lesson ten, section G, the good-night kiss," Seven uttered in her usual monotone, "I believe that now is the proper time to review that section as we have sucessfully completed the remainder of the lesson."

"Very well," the doctor said quietly.

"You may kiss me when ever you wish," Seven declared standing erect, her hands laying limply at her side.

"Well, Seven," the doctor said chuckling at her matter-of-fact approach, "It’s not quite that simple," the doctor was beginning to relax now, "First, there is the mood. Computer lower lighting by thirty percent," He waited until the lights went down to continue, "Secondly, A kiss should never be looked upon as a cold formality. It is something special shared by two people who care deeply for each other. Thirdly, there is the matter of posture. You are too rigid, relax a little," the doctor said. Stepping closer to her he pulled her into his arms, put her right hand on the small of his back and the around his neck. Suddenly, the doctor felt Seven shiver.

"Seven, are you alright?" he asked looking caringly into her soft blue eyes.

"Yes, Doctor, I am fine, It’s just a little chilly in here," Seven lied.

Then, slowly and gently he drew her closer. The two now stood so close a photon could not have passed between them. The doctor put his hand on the left side of her face caressing her cheek momentarily before and tenderly kissed her on the lips, lingering for an instant, before he took a step back. As he stepped back Seven laid her head on his shoulder, she was, again shivering.

"Would you like to review lesson thirty-five, Seven?" the doctor whispered softly.

"Yes, Doctor, I would enjoy that," Seven said lifting her head to look into the doctors deep green eyes.

"Computer, play musical selection two-forty-seven," The doctor slipped his hand around Seven’s waist drawing her close to him. Within seconds a familiar tune started playing.

    These were the lyrics:

There’s a saying old

Says that love is blind

Still we’re often told

‘Seek and ye shall find’

So I’m going to seek a certain lad

I’ve had in mind

Looking everywhere

Haven’t found him yet

He’s the big affair

I cannot forget

Only man

I ever think of with regret

I’d like to add his initial

to my monogram

Tell me

Where is the shepherd

for this lost lamb

There’s a somebody

I’m longing to see

I hope that he

Turns out to be

Someone who’ll watch over me

I’m a little lamb who’s lost in the wood

I know I could

Always be good

to one who’ll watch over me

Although he may not be the man

Some would think of as handsom

to my heart

he carries the key

Won’t you tell him please

To put on some speed

Follow my lead

Oh, how I need

Someone to watch

Over me

*Lyrics to the song "Someone to Watch Over Me" were written by the Incomparable Gershwin.
