TWO FOR THE SHOW!!  THE TOTAL ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE!!!
Two For The Show is a variety group that combines easy listening music, dance music, comedy, visual entertainment and lots of audience participation.  When asked where they got their material they said, "We get our material directly from the audience.  We play off the audience's reactions, questions, and involvement in what we are doing.  No show is ever the same.  We may start a routine the same each time but the content of it is always different.  There are always new lines created by the input of the audience."

The sound of the group is unique in that, although they are only a trio (figure that one out by the name!) the sound they produce is that of a 6 or 7 piece band.  At any one time you may hear bass, drums, guitar, strings, piano, horns, organ.  The secret to the sound lies with Dean King and the ways he utilizes his keyboard technique.  Using a pair of "intelligent arrangers", Dean is able to produce many styles and sounds from his keyboards that few are able to achieve in a live performance.  It is not uncommon to see a "one man band" these days given the advancement in technology in the music industry.  However, in most cases, such is accomplished with the use of sequences or CD's and most of the parts are pre-recorded.  Not so the case with Two For The Show.  Dean actually has to play or there is no music.  He has the most difficult job in the group and is probably the least visible.   But make no mistake about it, he is the backbone and heart of the group.  His keyboard playing coupled with his own unique vocals give the group it's roots and balance.

Along with the sound of the group, one of the main features is visual.  That is, of course, Annie Walker. Annie is the newest member of the group joining in late September of 2001.  Her background in music is extensive and encompasses everything from Gospel to Broadway Musical influences.  She has been a choir director for 11 years in her church and had the lead in Washington Community Theatre's production of Grease playing the part of Sandy.  She is blessed with an incredible vocal range and a particularly good ear for harmonies and tones.  Add to her vocal talents the fact that she plays saxaphone and keyboards quite well and you have a very well rounded performer.  Dont let Annies petite appearance fool you, she delivers power, chrisma and passion in each performance, passing along the emotion of the lyric to the audience and creating the atmosphere the song was meant to portray.

Although each member lends their own unique style of quick witted humor to the ensemble, Mike (Doc) Christy supplies the majority of the comic relief.  A drummer by trade and guitar player by necessity, Doc brings a combination of novelty songs, skits, impressions, and impromptu hilarity to the stage.  Original material, along with starndard routines with proven track records, are highlighted throughout the evening's performance.  Doc also lends a powerful vocal style to the package, giving the audience yet another dimension of entertainment to enjoy.

The group on the whole, strives first and foremost to entertain it's audience.  In these three individuals they have found three voices with a unique harmony blend.  This allows them an opportunity to render beautiful acappella moments within the performance of the night.  Versatility reigns supreme with Two For The Show, as demonstrated by their segment dedicated to asking for and doing requests.  Request time is yet another ploy to pull the audience into the show.  With Dean's uncanny ability to hear music  and Doc's encyclopedia like knowledge of lyrics from the past 6 decades, the request segment has become one of the most popular areas of the show.  It doesnt matter what style of music is requested because their combined 100 years of experience can appease any musical appetite!
